Role:
The Works manager/Project Engineer will play a role in the successful execution of the WTG conservation during an offshore subsea cable replacement project
WTGs will need to be prepared for a standstill period by implementing conservation measures to ensure an efficient restart of all WTGs after completion of the cable replacement.
This challenging and dynamic position requires an individual with a strong technical background, good project management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
The position is based onshore, with possibly occasional offshore site visits
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Collaborate with the project team to develop a detailed project plan, including time-lines, and resource requirements.
- Monitor and track project progress, ensuring adherence to the established schedule and identifying any deviations or risks.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to the project/works manager, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical expertise on Vestas V112-3.0MW turbines by developing, reviewing and commenting method statements and procedures in engineering phase with the conservation contractor.
- Review and evaluate proposals from contractors and suppliers, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with project goals.
- Support the execution process by providing technical expertise.
- Construction and Installation:
- Oversee the contractor’s operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Monitor and supervise the work performed by the contractor, ensuring adherence to project plans and resolving any technical issues that arise.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to ensure the integrity of the WTG conservation measures.
- Coordinate with offshore teams to manage logistics, personnel, and equipment required for the successful completion of the project.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, reports, and change orders.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, documenting key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for future projects.
- Participate in project review meetings, presenting project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
Requirements:
- Working rights for the EU/ country of Netherlands.
- Proven experience in project engineering within the renewable energy or offshore industry.
- Knowledge of the Vestas V112-3.0MW turbine, WTSR, and industry best practices.
- HV knowledge (switching activities, LOTOTO/WTSR, etc.)
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to offshore wind farm installations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Offshore certification, such as GWO, is a plus.
