Site QC Lead, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a proactive and leading attitude toward Health and Safety. As the Client Quality Representative, full awareness, understanding and promotion of the safety critical aspects of the work is expected.

  • Compliance with client and Project site safety rules and obligations including reporting of incidents, accidents and observations via company reporting mechanism.
  • Co-ordinates and manages the day-to-day activities for the Project QC Inspectors at the various yards.
  • Provides Quality support and direction to the Subcontractors teams working in the yards.
  • General visual inspection / verification of Master Punch List and works execution.
  • Drives and supports Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) quality management approach across the work.
  • In preparation for the works, achieves good working knowledge and understanding of master punch list and associated project procedures, drawings, Inspection and Test Plans, supporting specifications and relevant codes and standards and the Transfer of care and custody.
  • General Visual Inspection and Anomaly Reporting (as required) following load in and load out activities.
  • Co-ordinates and manages the Transfer of Care and Custody Process associated with yard movements.
  • Inspection and verification of any yard subcontracted activities in preparation for Installation and those associated with inspection of 3rd Party Vessel grillage and sea fastening, as required and in strict accordance with project procedures and defined acceptance criteria as per project procedures, Work Instructions, and ITP mark-up.
  • Reinforces the importance of accurate reporting and recording of the Marshalling Yard works – inspection and test data and photographic / video images, ensuring that no stages are missed, and a complete record of the works is made available for final reporting.
  • Quality check and endorsement of QC outputs and records.
  • Provides support with non-conformance / incident investigation and reporting.
  • Expediting & tracking project materials at site, where applicable
  • Leads pre load out walk down inspections using project checklist and tools and manages interface with Employer representative during the walk down (Employer Hold Point).
  • Identification, reporting and drives resolution of any new snag / punch list items in a timely manner and escalates to the project team as required.
  • Liaison with the project team to ensure alignment with Quality requirements and deliverable on all matters including snag / punch list resolution and closeout.
  • Liaison with Employer representatives, resolving queries and escalating within Project team as required.
  • Quality representation at Project meetings, proactive in the raising and management of all quality related matters through to resolution.

  • Proactive engagement and sharing of Lessons Learned throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Training (including Working at Height. Manual handing, Fire Awareness and First Aid)
  • Offshore medical certificate including Chester Step Test
  • Welding Inspector CSWIP 3.1 + PCN (MPI, DPI, UT – Level 2) or Senior Welding Inspector
  • CSWIP 3.2.1
  • Experienced in Engineering Construction / Fabrication Works – Offshore Wind / Oil and Gas
  • in QC Role
  • Good Technical understanding of Industry National and International Codes and Standards
  • (NORSOK, DNVGL, EN, ISO, ASME, AWS, ANSI, PED, ATEX, etc).
  • Ability to motivate a team to achieve quality and schedule requirement
  • Previous experience in supervision and mentoring of Quality personnel within a team
  • structure is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of Quality Standards: ISO 9000 Series, ISO 10005, BE EN 10204
  • Excellent organisational, communication, IT literacy and report writing skills
  • Capable of presentation and discussion at Senior Management Level
  • Proven Incident Management and Investigation experience
  • Proven problem-solving skills, analytical and systematic working approach
