Taylor Hopkinson are hiring a Project Director to join our client, based in Norway. Our client is currently developing large scale offshore wind projects across Norway, Ireland and the UK and are looking to increase the size of their team to deliver the existing pipeline of projects and also explore new opportunities.
The role reports to the SPV Chairman and CEO and will be focused on managing and leading offshore wind projects in Norway. The primary responsibility is the management of the scope, schedule, finance, risk and quality of offshore wind projects as they progress through development to execution.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for project management of development activities on the offshore wind projects.
- Management of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure projects are developed responsibly, ensuring they can be consented and installed safely at the lowest LCOE.
- Develop business plan, cost control system, cash flow and billable schedules for the project.
- Liaise with client and design team on procurement and engineering issues.
- Develop project safety and quality plans.
- Ensure projects team familiarity with the projects contract requirements
- Effective leadership of day to day running of project activities, including delivery within time constraints, cost, programme, materials, engineering, quality and safety.
- Ensure that all health, safety and welfare obligations associated with the project delivery are met.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Implement, maintain, and update procedures and processes appropriate to the role, ensuring projects are well scoped, scheduled, costed, and reported.
- Working closely with the Public Affairs Manager, help to develop local, national, internal and external stakeholder networks to enable successful project delivery.
- Active, enthusiastic involvement in all other elements of project development including, but not limited to, Commercial, HSEQ, Finance and Engineering.

Requirements
- 10-15 years’ experience in senior Project Management positions, specifically in an offshore project that achieved FID.
- Experience working with one or more Floating technologies would be a distinct advantage.
- High project value experience (€100M+).
- PMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of working with regulators, stakeholders and the planning process.
- An understanding of the key policy drivers, economic levers, and related legislation facilitating the development of these projects.
- Excellent team player with a track record of relationship building at all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Good organisational skills with strong ability to multitask.
