Position Summary
The Project Developer is responsible for managing the development of large-scale solar PV projects in Japan, from land acquisition to securing approvals and permits, ensuring project readiness for construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze potential sites for solar PV and storage projects, considering resource, legal, and environmental factors.
- Manage project approval processes, including land use, environmental compliance, and grid connection requirements.
- Negotiate and secure land purchase, lease, and permit agreements with landowners.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders (landowners, public authorities) and internal teams.
- Monitor project costs, timelines, and progress to meet objectives and schedules.
- Research and assess regulatory and planning frameworks relevant to target regions.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy project development in Japan (solar PV or BESS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of permitting processes and land registry systems.
- Experience with large-scale PV plant components and technical requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Valid Class B driver’s license.
