Package Manager – Civil Works

Taylor Hopkinson is mandated to recruit a Package Manager - Civil Works. This role involves leading a team of engineers and sub-project leads, as well as managing a budget exceeding €500 million.

As the Package Manager – Civil Works, you will be responsible from the development phase of the project until project completion, ensuring compliance with existing technical standards, contracts, and project management guidelines. In this role, you will lead and facilitate collaboration among your team, internal and external stakeholders, and contractual partners. This position will allow you to enhance your skills in managing a large infrastructure project with multiple interfaces and deepen your expertise in team management.
This is a full-time staff role based in Germany (Hamburg or Berlin). Due to the nature of this role, proficiency in the German language and knowledge of German civil engineering regulations is necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers and sub-package managers.
  • Handle budget responsibilities in the range of €500 million.
  • Develop, control, and review technical planning from the early stages to execution planning and support during the construction phase, considering deadlines, costs, and quality.
  • Create civil tender and award strategies and tender packages, and provide technical support in the award process.
  • Coordinate and implement technical and economic variant comparisons and studies.
  • Manage all relevant interfaces and control external service providers and suppliers.

Profile:

  • A degree in civil engineering or a comparable engineering discipline.
  • Experience in large infrastructure projects (civil engineering).
  • Experience in dealing with authorities for approval procedures.
  • Proficient in project management, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and experience in leading a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning and contracting large civil contracts (knowledge of HOAI, AHO, VOB, and VgV is advantageous).
  • Excellent German language skills (C1) and good English language skills (preferably B2).
