Grid Center of Excellence – Power System Engineer

Taylor Hopkinson have partnered with a global company dedicated to establishing a cutting-edge Centre of Excellence (CoE) to support grid connections through global collaboration and regional expertise.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Power System Engineer to join our client’s future-focused Centre of Excellence to lead the way in developing robust, sustainable grid connection strategies. Through collaboration across regions, their CoE fosters innovation, shares best practices, and ensures seamless integration of renewable energy into grids worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and reliable integration of WTG and BESS and Hydrogen products in various global markets.
  • Stay informed and drive the evolving grid connection technologies, standards, and regulations.
  • Setup the necessary tools, communication and policies with the aim of streamlining the compliance assessment and grid code analysis for their products.
  • Ensure that their products comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in key markets.
  • Collaborate with the likes of AEMO, National Grid, ESKOM and CTU, and regulatory bodies to support projects.

Experience:

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering; Ph.D. or similar.
  • 2-4 years experience electrical grid systems, power system stability, and grid codes.
  • Hands on experience in power system studies and grid connection.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience with simulation studies and grid connection processes.
