Fund Manager – Origination

Key Responsibilities:

Business Origination and Pipeline Development
Lead efforts in identifying, screening, and developing a robust pipeline of investment opportunities that align with the fund’s mission. Build relationships with potential clients, project developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a steady flow of high-quality prospects for fund deployment.

Opportunity Assessment and Feasibility Analysis
Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of potential investments, assessing project feasibility in terms of business model, market viability, operational soundness, and long-term sustainability. Provide recommendations on the suitability of each opportunity and determine necessary conditions for fund support.

Funding Application and Structuring
Prepare and lead grant and investment applications for fund deployment, structuring investments to optimize impact and ensure alignment with fund objectives. Leverage concessional capital instruments (e.g., equity, debt, viability gap funding) to enhance private sector involvement and manage risk across transaction parties.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
Maintain active engagement with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and partner organizations. Provide reports and updates to funding partners and participate in relevant meetings to represent the fund’s interests and goals.

Reporting and Documentation
Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for fund committees and board reviews, providing transparent and timely information for decision-making. Ensure regular updates are available for funders and stakeholders, including periodic reports on impact and progress.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background
Master’s degree in finance, development, investment, or a related field, with 8-10 years of relevant experience in fund management, development finance, or project finance.

Analytical and Financial Acumen
Strong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills to assess project viability and investment feasibility. Proven ability to interpret project and financial data to support informed investment decisions

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with a capacity to engage diverse stakeholders and manage complex partnerships. Ability to identify business opportunities and resolve issues collaboratively.
