Construction Director

Taylor Hopkinson is searching for an experienced Director of Construction for renewable energy projects for a big international EPC company.

The job location is Spain, with many business travels.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and revise construction standards and project management guidelines.
• Create and manage the construction budget, optimize costs, and achieve financial goals.
• Develop and execute staffing and staff development plans to support the growing PV demands.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate construction-related risks.
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions with third parties for portfolio matters.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Build and sustain essential supplier relationships for project construction.
• Introduce innovative construction techniques and technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Participate in the strategic planning and direction of the construction division.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project construction in various countries and multinational settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong financial skills and experience in managing large construction budgets.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with proficiency in managing and negotiating with key stakeholders and clients.
• Proficiency in English at a C1 level.
• Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.
