My client is s global vessel marine service provider in the Renewable energy industry. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and budgeting support. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate and timely financial data, helping drive decision-making and maintain compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they comply with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Account Reconciliation: Oversee general ledger accounts, including the preparation and reconciliation of bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing analysis of variances to actual results.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during audits, ensuring all requested financial documentation and supporting schedules are provided on time.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in the management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.), ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve financial controls, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting processes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in financial data and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify discrepancies in financial data and recommend solutions.
- Certifications: CPA or CMA (preferred, but not required).
