Onshore Wind Construction Manager

Taylor Hopkinson is currently in active pursuit of a Onshore Wind Construction Manager in Ohio with a global consultancy delivering engineering, management, and due diligence services for renewable energy projects. Now part of a larger firm, it strengthens its onshore business in wind and solar capabilities with expanded resources and reach.

The Construction Manager is needed to serve as the on-site owner representative for an onshore wind farm construction project in Ohio. The construction phase is expected to last 9-10 months through closeout and commercial operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Owner’s Representative on-site, ensuring coordination between the Project Manager, WTG, and EPC contractors.
  • Provide construction management, including contract administration, supplier coordination, schedule oversight, cost monitoring, and documentation review.
  • Supervise a team of quality and safety inspectors, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in mitigating schedule deviations.
  • Coordinate with grid operators, transmission providers, and interconnection contractors.
  • Review change orders and provide recommendations to the owner.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and overall construction quality.
  • Liaise with local, state, federal, and tribal authorities on permitting, zoning, environmental, and safety matters.
  • Conduct constructability reviews, site inspections, and oversee equipment fabrication.
  • Manage owner-furnished materials, including procurement, logistics, and storage.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality project close-out documentation.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, landowners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in renewable energy construction (onshore wind preferred).
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and strong teamwork abilities.
