Planning Engineer

Planning Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in England

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Lead Planner to develop and maintain specific aspects of the overall project programme at all levels of detail from current day through to commencement of commercial operations in several years’ time.
  • Ensuring alignment of the project programme to the project work breakdown structure.
  • Monitor and report on project progress at regular intervals. Providing reporting to highlights key activities and areas where project management should be focusing their attention.
  • Collate and summarise Contractor programme information into the overall project programme.
  • Develop “what-if” scenario planning in order to inform strategic project management decisions.
  • Support other Project controls functions (Cost, Risk, Doc Control) with planning information as required.

Requirements

  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English.
  • Sound educational background educated to degree level.
  • Experience of planning large construction projects with multiple packages.
  • Good knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Knowledge of Offshore wind is an advantage but not essential.
  • Open-minded and can-do attitude, able to work autonomously and proactively with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills, able to effectively prioritise work in the most efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of disciplines and stakeholders, both in the transmission of information and the receipt and understanding of it.
  • Able to drive the wider team to engage with the programme and planning activities in order to deliver the best result for the project.
  • Ability to understand the informational needs of different stakeholders and tailor reporting output to suit these differing requirements.
