Taylor Hopkinson is working with a globally recognised consultancy to appoint a French speaking Power Systems Engineer to work as part of their operations team across a portfolio of HVDC, transmission and interconnector projects in Europe.
This role will lead on studies related to the integration of renewable energy sources, taking part in local and international projects focusing on RES integration, security of supply, sustainability and economic efficiency of Power Systems.
This is a full time, staff role that can be based in either Berlin or Belgium.
Role:
- Analysis and definition of operational principles.
- Model definition and validation.
- Steady-state (load flow, short circuit calculations).
- Dynamic stability analysis (frequency, voltage stability).
- Grid Code requirement and connection compliance studies.
- Support the analysis and evaluation of grid reliability and security such as capacity calculation, balancing and operational planning.
- Support the company’s business development teams in identifying and pursuing opportunities by establishing trusted relationships with our clients and developing of proposals.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar subject.
- Extensive experience in Power System Operations and Security (balancing and RES system integration, system operation and state-of-the-art technological solutions).
- Expertise in translating complex data into key strategic insights and valuable actions.
- Knowledge of power system simulation tools (for example PowerFactory, PSSE).
- Fluent in French and English is essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to act as a technical focal point and lead behaviourally by example within the team.
