Our client is one of the European and global leaders in renewables, with a turnover of more than €5 billion and huge investments in their continued growth. Taylor Hopkinson has been retained to recruit a Senior Project Manager for the UK.
We have been retained to recruit a Grid Connections Manager who will join an established team in London, and manage the grid connection process for utility-scale solar and storage projects in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Management of connection process with TSO/DNO.
- Preparation of Technical Specifications for Tenders
- Develop effective relationships with potential contractors, suppliers, consultants
- Qualification of contractors, suppliers, consultants
- Evaluation of offers and follow-up in the tendering process
- Support for the preparation of contracts to ensure that works will be executed in accordance with company requirements.
- Supervision of PQ studies
- Design review of the Engineering from EPC/subcontractors
- Functional coordination with internal departments (Engineering, PM, HSE, etc.)
- Critical analysis of the construction schedule
- Review of Quality Control Plan and Inspection Points Program of EPC/subcontractors
- Preliminary site surveys and Audits during construction
- General supervision of Grid Connection Works and Coordination with Project Managers and Site Engineers
- Participation of the relevant phases of Commissioning
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in the grid connection of renewable projects.
- Experience working with a TSO, DNO, renewable developer or technical consultancy.
- BSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge in Mechanical & Civil Engineering is considered an advantage.
- Track record in the design of HV substations.
- Track record in the construction of HV substation is considered an advantage.
- Experience in the construction of HV substation for the connection of renewables (solar, wind & batteries) is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of AUTOCAD.
- Knowledge of power system simulation software (PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, Etap.).
