Taylor Hopkinson signs Armed Forces Covenant
Taylor Hopkinson is proud to announce that our Director of Offshore Wind Contract, Donna Ellcock, signed the Armed Forces Covenant in a ceremony held at the National Transition Event 2023 at Silverstone Circuit.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge of support to those who have served, or are serving, in the military and their families. We are proud to join other signatories like RenewableUK, Ørsted, RWE, EDF Energy and James Fisher Renewables in supporting service personnel as they transition into sustainable careers in renewables.

The offshore wind industry is a rapidly-growing sector with a vast array of career opportunities for veterans. From engineering to HSE and operations and maintenance, military skills enjoy significant crossover with those most-needed in renewable energy in coming decades. Taylor Hopkinson is committed to providing veterans with opportunities to continue their careers in offshore wind.
Donna was joined at the National Transition Event by Lieutenant General Richard Wardlaw, a senior British Army officer who serves as the Chief of Defence Logistics and Support.
“I’m extremely proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant for Taylor Hopkinson,” says Donna, who spent spent four years as a Royal Navy Writer and sits on the Offshore Wind Industry Council’s Military Working Group. “We’re passionate about supporting veterans and the military community. If we want to reach net zero emissions and bridge the ever-growing skills gap, we must help service leavers, with all of their skills, experience and values, to navigate their way into our industry.
“Signing the Covenant means that we are deliberately removing obstacles to veterans, and investing in innovative ways to bring them into our sector – initiatives like our free Offshore Wind Essentials training course, which is helping specialists from aligned industries to gain the knowledge and confidence to seek a role in renewables.
“We look forward to reaching more veterans with this course and helping them transition to a successful, sustainable career in renewables as we build our future net zero energy system.”
